From the Philippine News Agency (May 9): 2 hurt in Maguindanao blasts

Military units are now securing the town of Datu Unsay, Maguindanao after three explosions rocked the area wounding two civilians Sunday night.

The incident took place 8:55 p.m., said Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) public affairs office chief Col. Noel Detoyato.

Initial investigations indicated the explosions which rocked a public market in the town came from rifle grenades.

Wounded were Arnel Samad Sangkopan, 24 and Ali Zainal Sandal, 18.

All two were wounded by shrapnel blasts, Detoyato said.

Troopers from the 34th Infantry Battalion are now securing the area.
