From Update.Ph (Apr 4): LOOK: US Army aircraft take flight from Subic

United States Army helicopters, that were unloaded at Subic Bay port, have taken flight April 3, a day before the opening ceremony of US-Philippines Balikatan 2016.

Among the American aircraft that were unloaded at the said port were UH-60M Black Hawk Helicopters, HH-60M Hospital Helicopters (a variant of Black Hawk), and CH-47 Chinook helicopters.

The tilt-rotor MV-22 Osprey, Lockheed C-130 Hercules cargo planes, and A-10 Thunderbolt ground attack aircraft, and leased Hawker Hunter jet fighters are also expected to join the joint war games.

Balikatan 2016 officially opened today and will run through April 15.

The Philippines will utilize Air Force’s first two FA-50PH Fighting Eagle light-interim fighter aircraft for Balikatan 2016.

Air Force spokesman Colonel Enrico Canaya said in FA-50PH pilots will practice airborne intercept techniques, air combat maneuvers, interdiction and close-air support with their American counterparts.
