From the Manila Times (Mar 15): Ranking rebel leader in ComVal nabbed
A RANKING Official of the New People’s Army (NPA) in Compostela Valley was nabbed on Monday by operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) during a manhunt operation in a remote village in Davao Oriental.
CIDG Chief, Dir. Victor Deona identified the arrested alleged rebel leader as Allan Montecalvo alias “Kumander Em-Em”, reportedly secretary general of the Compostela Valley Guerilla Front 2 (GF-2).
Deona said Montecalvo was nabbed by a composite team of Army, Davao Oriental Provincial Police Office (PPO) and CIDG-Davao Oriental at Purok 2, Sitio Quizon, Barangay Ilangay in Lupon town.
Montecalvo is wanted for violation of PD 1866 (Illegal/ Unlawful Possession, Manufacture, Dealing in, Acquisition or Disposition of Firearms, Ammunition or Explosives.)
