CAMP GEN EMILIO AGUINALDO, Quezon City (DWDD) – The President and Armed Forces of the Philippines Commander –in- Chief Benigno Aquino III led the Change of Command Ceremony at the Philippine Air Force (PAF) and at the same time the retirement of outgoing CGPAF Lt Gen Jeffrey Delgado at Fernando Air Base in Lipa, Batangas.

The Chief Executive named Lt. Gen. Edgar Fallorina as the new Commanding General of the Air Force.

Lt Gen Fallorina, a native of Jaro, Leyte and a member of PMA Class 1983, was the formerly the AFP Deputy Chief of Staff and is now the 34th Commanding General of the Air Force..

Lt. Gen. Delgado stepped down days ahead of his retirement date of March 20 due to an election ban on appointments.

Fallorina is a “proficient helicopter pilot” having been designated as squadron commander of the 206th Tactical Helicopter Squadron in 2002 and Wing Commander of 520th Air Base Wing in 2011.

He also served as deputy commander of 3rd Air Division in 2012; commander of 1st Air Division in 2013 and the Vice Commander of the Philippine Air Force in 2014.
He was a recipient of three Distinguished Service Stars; the Distinguished Aviation Cross, the Silver Wing Medal and numerous Military Merit Medals.
Lt Gen Fallorina is set to retire in 2017. AES / MCAG
