South Cotabato Muslim youth groups initiate Tabang Bakwit Program

Muslim students and youth groups from South Cotabato initiated a Tabang Bakwit Program to gather relief goods for the displaced constituents of Maguindanao brought by the all-out offensive of the government forces against the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF).

The initiative was a joint collaboration of the Muslim Students Organization-Notre Dame of Marbel University (NDMU), Mindanao Center for Da'wah and Islamic Studies, Agency for Youth affairs-Tupi, College of Arts and Sciences and College of Health Sciences of NDMU and Philippine Society of Medical Technology Students.

The volunteers were able to collect and produced 230 packs of relief goods. Each pack has clothes, rice, noodles, toiletries and other food items.

The relief goods will be sent this Thursday to Office of the Bangsamoro People at the ORG Compound in Cotabato City which will facilitate the distribution to target community.

Organizers thanked all benefactors who shared their resources for the said program.

The Humanitarian Emergency Aid Response Team (HEART) of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao reported there were around 123,537 IDPs as of Monday March 16 due to the AFP-BIFF clash.
