From the Philippine News Agency (Mar 26): Military leads ground-breaking of mosque, school-building in Mamasapano town

In line with government efforts to normalize situation in Maguindanao, the 6th Infantry Division together with the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) on Wednesday spearheaded in the groundbreaking ceremony of a mosque and school building in Barangay Tukanalipao, Mamasapano town.

The activity was graced by ARMM Gov. Mujiv S. Hataman, 6th Infantry Division commander Major Gen. Edmundo R. Pangilinan, and mayors of Mamasapano, Parang, and Buldon.

Also present were ARMM Police Region Office head Senior Supt. Noel Armilla and barangay chairs of Mamasapano town.

The infrastructure projects are part of the peace development projects that will be financed by ARMM and will be implemented and monitored by the 6th Infantry Division.

During the joint peace activities, the medical and dental team of 6th Infantry Division provided free services to residents aside from medicines.

This endeavor is part of the peace initiatives of 6th Infantry Division in support to the peace process between the government and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front.
