FORT DEL PILAR, BAGUIO CITY,  March 9 (PIA) -- A Baguio boy will lead this year’s graduates of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) on Sunday, March 15.

PMA Superintendent Lt. Gen. Oscar Lopez presented on Monday the top 10 graduates of the PMA SINAGLAHI (Sundalong Isinilang na may Angking Galing at Lakas, Handang Ipaglaban ang Bayan) Class of 2015.

Topping the list is Cadet First Class Arwi Chiday Martinez of Loakan Proper, Baguio City. He will receive the Presidential Saber from President Benigno Aquino III during the graduation rites on Sunday here.

Martinez, a son of a forester and a housewife, and  of  Kankanaey and Ibaloi  lineage, will be joining the Philippine Army.

At second place is Cade First  Class  Genesis Salvador Dizon   of Airmen's Village EAAV, Sta.  Maria, Zamboanga City.

Third on the list is Cadet 1 CL John Payl Bacsain   of San Antonio, Pili, Camarines Sur. Both  Di zon and Bacsain are also joining the Army.

No . 4 is  C1CL Paolo Dominic Regis. He will receive the Philippine Navy Saber  for the no. 1 graduating cadet joining the Navy  of Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro.

At No. 5 is only lady cadet in the top 10, Cadet 1CL Caroline Jhoy Nacional of Purok Liwliwa, Barangay Malalag, Maitum, Sarangani. She is the  no. 1  in all leadership courses.

Others in the Top 10 are: #6- John Denver Bambico of Ambaracao Norte, Naguilian, La Union; # 7- Jan Klyde Danganan  of Irisan, Baguio City; #8- Steven Tali of Lower Calarian, Zamboanga City; # 9- Brian Villanueva  of Lagao, General Santos, and  #10 - Regeric Fuentes of Barangay Sangat, Mlang, North Cotabato.

The SINAGLAHI Class of 2015 is composed of 171- strong cadets with 155 males and 16 females. 92 of the graduates will be joining the Philippine Army, 45  to  the Philippine Navy and 34  to the  Philippine Air Force.

Lopez said that what makes the graduating class distinct is that  its  members are academically gifted with most of them  valedictorians, honorable mentions, and academic scholars during their high school and college years before entering the premiere military school.

He added that the selection of the class name SINAGLAHI embodies the collective aspirations and the values of the class.
