From the Manila Times (Mar 18): 3ID chief clarifies Army presence in city villages

ILOILO CITY: The chief of the 3rd Infantry Division (3ID) of the Philippine Army has allayed fears on the presence of soldiers in some barangays here, saying they are performing civic action activities and information drive as requested by the villagers in close coordination with the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).

Major Gen, Rey Leonardo Guerrero, Commanding General of the 3ID based in Jamindan, Capiz said they are part of the inter-agency action and info drive in promoting the positive image of soldiers in contact with the civilian populace.
