Military relief planes now in Tacloban City

From the Philippine News Agency (Nov 11): Military relief planes now in Tacloban City

Two Philippine Air Force (PAF) Lockheed C-130 "Hercules" cargo planes carrying assorted relief goods and 90 members of the Philippine National Police (PNP)-Special Action Force arrived in Tacloban City Monday morning.

The planes departed from Cebu around 5 a.m., according to Central Command spokesperson Lt. Jim Alagao.

The cargo planes were in Tacloban City before 7 a.m.

Alagao said that the 90 police officers were deployed to area for peace and order work and to reinforce the existing Tacloban police contingent.

He added that two "Huey" helicopters were also deployed by the Central Command to conduct an aerial survey of damages sustained by Bantayan and Camotes Islands.

Alagao also said that helicopters based in Tacloban will also conduct a similar flight to look into the damages sustained by Eastern Samar.
