From ABS-CBN (Jul 19): Gunman opens fire on soldiers in Zamboanga
An unidentified man opened fire on soldiers in Barangay Campo Islam, Zamboanga City early morning on Friday.
The strafing occurred at around 2:30 a.m.
Government troops took cover and did not return fire since civilians were in the area.
The gunman was able to escape towards lower Calarian.
Recovered from the crime scene were 11 empty shells from a 9-millimeter firearm.
