Nalalagay ngayon sa balad ng alanganin ang isang Philippine Army brigade commander matapos itong sibakin sa kanyang pwesto makaraang mamatayan ng 7 sundalo at 8 sugatan sa isang ambush ng New People’s Army. Kinilala ni Col. Loreto Magundayao, Jr., hepe ng Civil Military Operations Battalion ng 5th Infantry Division, ang sinibak na opisyal na si Col. Eduardo Collado, ang pinuno ng 502nd Infantry Brigade. Sinabi nitong may isinasagawang imbestigasyon sa naturang ambush upang mabatid kung ano ang naging lapses ng militar. “In military parlance, he (Collado) has been given (rest and recreation) pending the result of the investigation in connection with the encounter,” ani Magundayao. Naganap ang ambush sa kabundukan ng Barangay Mabbayad sa bayan ng Echague at kasama sa mga nasawi ay isang tinyente mula sa Bukidnon province sa northern Mindanao. Si Brig. Gen. (The situation of a Philippine Army brigade commander is uncertain after 7 soldiers were killed and 8 wounded in an ambush by the New People's Army.  Col. Loreto Magundayao, Jr., Chief of the Civil Military Operations Battalion of the 5th Infantry Division said that Col. Eduardo Collado, the head of the 502nd Infantry Brigade was relieved due the ongoing investigation into  the ambush to determine what military lapses took place. "In military parlance, he (Collado) has been given (rest and recreation) pending the result of the investigation in connection with the encounter," said Magundayao. The ambush took place in the mountains of Barangay Echague, Mabbayad town and among the dead was a lieutenant from Bukidnon province in northern Mindanao. Brig. Gen. Arnulfo Marcos, the deputy commander of the 5th Infantry Division, now has temporary command of Collado's brigade.)
