The military’s 7th Infantry Battalion sent more troops to Datu Montawal town in Maguindanao as family feud involving Moro brothers continues to sending fears to villagers. Col. Benjamen Hao, 7th IB chief, said the local police in Datu Montawal, has requested for troops augmentation as sporadic fighting between followers of Datu Montawal Mayor Utto Montawal and his heavily armed brother Andy continue to occur. Andy, who has about 30 armed followers, had been at odds with his younger brother, the town mayor, over matters only known to them, authorities said. Hao said efforts have been made by the local leaders, the police and the military to pacify warring groups to no avail. “Mayor Montawal is very willing to sit down and settle differences with his brother in a peaceful manner,” Hao said in a radio interview. “But the brother, Datu Andy, could not be found when soldiers and Muslim religious leaders were trying to reach him,” he added....
