From the Sun Star-Bacolod (Nov 5): Another suspected NPA amazon arrested
ANOTHER suspected amazon member of the New People's Army (NPA) was arrested by the police at the new public market of Cadiz City last October 30. The military identified the suspected amazon as Sarah Alvarez alias “Olsen”. She was arrested by the virtue of an Order of Arrest in Criminal Case No. 4311-C for the crime of murder with no bail recommended, issued and signed by Judge Renato D. Muñez of Branch 60, Reginal Trial Court (RTC) 6th Judicial Region, Cadiz City dated September 19, 2012.... Also on the same date, Julia Pacheco Tabat alias “Gab” and “Alex”, also an alleged member of the NPA operating in southwest Negros, died in an armed clash with government security forces in Candoni town. Tabat also has an existing warrant of arrest for attempted and frustrated murder cases. Lactao has given orders to the 47th Infantry Battalion to assist the family of Tabat in giving her a decent burial and encourages all soldiers under his command to contribute and share in order to soften the pain of the family. “There is nothing personal in this encounter which resulted to the death of Tabat. We also grieve whether soldiers or NPAs are killed because we are all Filipinos,” Lactao said.
