The Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) has never been a factor in the 16-year GPH-MILF peace negotiation. We don’t mind if the election in this administrative region pushes through or not. It is government affair.” This was the statement of Jun Mantawil, head of the MILF Secretariat, in reaction to a statement attributed to MILF Vice Chairman Ghazali Jaafar that the MILF has asked the government to postpone the election.
