LOOK | The Naval Forces Western Mindanao (NFWM) successfully conducted a Joint Naval Gun Test Firing and Capability Demonstration in the vicinity of Dasalan Island, Basilan on September 23, 2023. The exercise involved multiple naval assets, including BRP General Mariano Alvarez (PS38), BRP Nestor Acero (PG901), BRP Domingo Deluana (PG905), BRP Florencio Iñigo (PC393), and 1st Boat Attack Division's BA485 and BA487.The main objective was to evaluate the effectiveness of naval weapons and the participating ships' overall operational capability. The exercise also sought to assess the efficiency of the gun crews and the efficacy, precision, and operation of all naval combat equipment with activities such as as live gunnery exercises, swarming tactics, and coordinated maneuvers.
