A total of 108 soldiers assigned with the 15th and 62nd Infantry Battalions in Negros island have been promoted to the next higher rank.Of the promoted Army soldiers, 50 are members of 62nd Infantry Battalion stationed in Isabela, and 58 others are members of the 15th Infantry Battalion in Cauayan, all in Negros Occidental.
In a statement, Lt. Col. Michael Cuarteros, 15IB commander, reminded the 58 newly promoted soldiers, of which four are officers, to maintain their commitment to service and the pursuit of excellence.
“Your rank does not confer privilege, but it imposes responsibility. Carry out your duties in accordance with the rank awarded to you, as it corresponds greater responsibility,” Cuarteros said.
Lt. Col. William Pesase, 62IB commander, also welcomed the newly assigned two Army lieutenants and seven other enlisted personnel to his unit on March 19 at their headquarters in Isabela.
Pesase also led the donning of rank ceremony to 50 newly promoted 62IB officers and enlisted personnel.
“You work for it and you should treasure it, promotion instill greater responsibility and you will be designated to a higher designation, so it is covered with great responsibility and accountability,” he stressed.
Welcoming the newly assigned personnel and donning of ranks to the newly promoted personnel is one of the traditions and best practices of the unit that forms part of the unit’s transformation in recognizing the significant accomplishments of individual soldiers.
