Kalinaw News: 38 Million worth of completed projects has been turned-over to four Barangays in Maragusan, Davao de Oro

Posted to Kalinaw News (Mar 14, 2022): 38 Million worth of completed projects has been turned-over to four Barangays in Maragusan, Davao de Oro

After the ceremonial turn-over of the Barangay Development Program (BDP) projects on March 10 and 12, 2022, the four barangays of Maragusan; Barangay Bagong Silang, Coronobe, Katipunan and Mahayahay are now enjoying their farm-to-market roads, school building, water system, and solar street lights.

In partnership with the 66th Infantry (KABALIKAT) Battalion, the Provincial Local Government of Davao de Oro led by Gov Jayvee Tyron Uy, Barangay Bagong Silang, Coronobe, Katipunan, and Mahayahay all of Maragusan received a total of 38 million Pesos worth of projects as part of the Whole-of-nation approach in Ending Local Communist Armed Conflict (ELCAC). These projects aim not only to eliminate the presence of insurgency in the area but also to open more opportunities to uplift the living status of the conflict-affected Barangays.

It can be recalled that these Barangays were the former stronghold of the NPA terrorists. Through consultation with the residents, it was determined that the lack of water system, poor road condition, insufficient education facilities and lack of street lights were the primary needs of the said Barangay beneficiaries.

In the statement of Hon Larry Bonyugan, Barangay Captain of Bagong Silang, he expressed how grateful they are that the government has fulfilled their promises for them.

Meanwhile, Hon.

Likewise, Gov Uy thanked the AFP and other government agencies for their unending commitment for the peace and order of the community.

With the projects completed, farmers will no longer have a problem bringing their products to the market, the people will no longer walk on dark streets, children can build their dreams and people can have a better life. The NTF-ELCAC program through the joint effort of the AFP, different government agencies and, other stakeholders will continue to provide what is good for its entire locality and populace.

LTC JULIUS M MUNAR PA, Battalion Commander of 66IB said.

The activity was also attended by PMSg Leonilo B. Vincere, Representative from the Revitalized Police Sa Barangay (RPSB), and other municipal and barangay officials.
