THE Army’s 35th Infantry “Makamandag” Battalion (IB) has constructed a separate inspection area for male and female to better serve the public in the province of Sulu.
Lieutenant Colonel Wilfredo Borgonia, Jr., 35IB commander, said Monday, September 20, 2021, that the inspection area is at the checkpoint of the battalion at Kilometer 3 in Tagbak village, Indanan, Sulu.
Borgonia said the checkpoint area is the busiest checkpoint as it is the gateway for the people coming from far-flung areas in Sulu to the town of Jolo, the capital of the province.
He said they also provide hands-on security and is daily deploying enlisted women at the checkpoint to conduct inspection to women, who travel coming from different municipalities in Sulu.
Borgonia said aside from ensuring the security of the people, they are also implementing Covid-19 protocols as a way of helping the province prevent the spread of the virus.
He said the “Makamandag” troopers always opt for everyone’s safety and security.
“Rest assured that this unit will provide services for the people of Lupah Sug,” he added.
