455 children in Maubog Integrated School, Pantukan Davao de Oro were benefited from Educational Outreach Program of Kiwanis International held in Sitio Maubog, Brgy Tibagon, Pantukan Davao de Oro on 28th of August 2021.
The effort was made possible through the avid support of Kiwanis International in partnership with 48th Infantry (GUARDIAN) Battalion, 7th Infantry (KAUGNAY) Division, Philippine Army led by Lt. Col. Enrique G Rafael, that facilitated the conduct of early kick-off program “Brigada Eskwela”.
Recipients are Pupils from Maubog Integrated School and Parasan Elementary School / Maubog Integrated School Extension at Sitio Sapang Lubog, Brgy Tibagon, Pantukan Davao De oro.
Through the unrelenting support and effort of our generous stakeholders from various partners & friends of Kiwanis, the Brigada Eskwela program was able to provide school supplies to the children like Sen Bong Go notebooks and ballpens; toys, sandwiches, and bananas for the children; face masks and face shields; thermal scanner; alcohol and paints, paintbrush & nails for the school restoration in preparation for the school opening.
Through this initiative, the importance of the community is recognized in making schools the best place for learners to acquire the values and competencies needed to contribute to nation-building.
Melissa Quirol, OIC of Parasan Integrated School said she never had in mind that the 48IB will respond to the request letter conveyed to the Battalion. She added that she was surprised by the supplies they received more than they expected.
“A heartfelt thanks to Kiwanis Club International for the in-kind donations extended to our school in Maubog Integrated School and Parasan Integrated school Maubog IS extension for Oplan Balik Eskwela Program under Oplan Brigada Activity, with the initiative and coordination of the 48IB, the said event was successful. On behalf of the Department of Education, Division of Davao de Oro, Pantukan North District, we thank you so much.” The Principal of the School, Maubig Integrated School, Maria Teresa Chavez said.
On the other hand, Lt. Col. Rafael said, “we are reaching out to the people to assist as part of our mandate to serve and protect the people particularly those vulnerable sectors of our society and living in geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas. With the help of the different stakeholders to especially to the Kiwanis International, the Philippine Army as a whole will continue to extend government programs and stakeholders’ support to help the community.”
