Davao de Oro – 10th Infantry (Agila) Division (10ID) Commander Maj. Gen. Ernesto C Torres Jr lauds the Agila Troopers for the command’s accomplishments during the Second Quarter Campaign Progress Review and Assessment (CPRA) and Command Conference at Camp General Manuel T Yan Sr in Mawab, Davao de Oro on April 26, 2021.

From March 9 up to April 27, 2021, the Agila Division has captured 30 high-powered firearms and 31 low-powered firearms from the communist terrorists.

The Agila Division also neutralized twenty-three (23) members of the NPA with six (6) recorded encounters while exhuming three cadavers who were identified as victims of NPA in Paquibato District in Davao City . Also apprehended were three persons involved in illegal drugs and the surrender of Agusan Del Sur’s fourth most-wanted person.

Among the neutralized communist rebels were the following:

Commanding Officer of the Regional HQs, Southern Mindanao Regional Committee (SMRC); Secretary, Guerilla Front North who is also the Secretary of Sub-Regional Committee 1 (SRC 1); Vice-Commanding Officer, Sentro de Grabidad, Weakened Guerilla Front 2; Commanding Officer, Guerilla Front 53; Vice-Commanding Officer, Front Guerilla Unit, WGF2; Vice-Commanding Officer, Guerilla Front 19-A; Secretary, Provincial White Area Operation Front, GF Alip; and Former Vice-CO, Front Guerilla Unit, GF Alip.

The Division likewise continues to actively participate in the Regional Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict; Regional Development Council, and Peace and Order Council. Also, collaborative efforts with the convergence team from the Department of Agriculture, Department of Social Welfare and Development, Department of Health, and the Department of Trade and Industry are underway.

Moreover, 10ID facilitated the establishment of more than 400 people’s organizations composed of former rebels, indigenous people, and the youth sector, thereby boosting further the peace and development efforts of the government especially in geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas. These POs, aside from providing livelihood, likewise protect communities from communist recruitment and extortion activities.

Maj. Gen. Torres also welcomed three newly promoted Brigadier Generals with arrival honors and a short program at 10ID officer’s clubhouse. The newly-promoted namely: 1001st Brigade Commander, Brig. Gen. Luis Rex Bergante; 1002nd; Brigade Commander, Brig. Gen. Potenciano Camba; and 10ID Assistant Division Commander, Brig. Gen. Philip Lapinid.
