CAMP SIONGCO, Maguindanao – Government forces seized sundry high-powered firearms in a law enforcement operation in Pandag, Maguindanao on April 27, 2021. Combined troops from 5th Special Forces Battalion, 40th Infantry ‘Magiting’ Battalion, 601st Infantry Brigade, and the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group of Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (CIDG-BARMM) conducted a joint law enforcement operation to serve the warrant of arrest against Jorros Ongga Guiamad in Sitio Lasian, Kabuling in the said municipality.

Brigadier General Roy M Galido, Commander, 601st Infantry Brigade acknowledges the close coordination between the military and police forces in the area that contributed to the successful conduct of joint law enforcement operations. He further iterated that the security forces were able to confiscate one .50 caliber Barret sniper rifle, one M79 Grenade Launcher, six calibers .38 revolver (unserviceable), one KG9 pistol (unserviceable), two fragmentation grenades, one rifle grenade, and several ammunition and magazines of different calibers. However, the target personality was able to evade arrest after sensing the presence of the security forces during the raid.

Major General Juvymax R. Uy, Commander, 6th Infantry ‘Kampilan’ Division and Joint Task Force Central said that the relentless campaign of JTFC against Lawless Elements will positively contribute to the peace and security situation of the communities in the Joint Area of Operation. “The JTF Central will not let its guard down against lawless elements and other suspected individuals who pose threat to the safety and security of the people of Maguindanao. While we do combat operations, we also have a role to support our counterparts from the PNP by conducting law enforcement support operations to neutralize lawless elements in our area of jurisdiction. That is why we need to enhance our partnerships with other government enforcement agencies to sustain possible solutions to our security problems”, Maj. Gen. Uy said. He further added that he looks forward to safer communities in the area of responsibility of the JTF Central.
