Posted to Kalinaw News (Nov 2, 2020): Kampilan Troopers through GMA Kapuso conduct relief operation in Maguindanao
CAMP Siongco, Maguindanao – In response to the needs of flood victims, the 6th Infantry (Kampilan) Division in partnership with GMA Kapuso Foundation distributed 600packs of relief goods to affected families of Barangay Reina Regente and Barangay Damabalas, Datu Piang, Maguindanao on October 29, 2020.
Meanwhile, troops from 57th Infantry Battalion led by LTC Jonathan Pondanera and personnel of 6th Civil Military Operations Battalion (6CMOBn) spearheaded by LTC Anhouvic ‘Dingdong’ Atilano together with personnel of GMA Kapuso Foundation headed by Project Officer Maria Christine Dungca facilitated the hauling and distribution of the relief goods.
These relief operations were initiated by Maj. General Uy as part of the 33rd founding anniversary celebration of 6th ID in response to the need of people who were affected by recent calamities, specially the flood due to heavy rains spawned by a recent tropical depression that hit Philippine Area of Responsibility.
Major General Juvymax R. Uy, Commander of 6th Infantry Division and Joint Task Force Central commended the troops and the GMA Kapuso Foundation for initiating the relief operations.
“This noble undertaking shows our genuine concern to the affected constituents in our area of responsibility. Your army together with the LGU, Non-Government Organizations and other stakeholders are always ready to extend necessary support to the affected families” said Maj. Gen. Uy.
