Mati City, Davao Oriental – The Youth For Peace Movement-Davao Oriental sponsored a friendship basketball game pitting former NPA fighters and troops of 701st Brigade today September 25, 2020 in Mati City.

The game unites the Army and the Former Rebels (FRs) who recently graduated from the de-radicalization program, as they played and bonded on and off the court in solidarity for peace.

Troops from the 701st Brigade and the Company Commanders and CMO Officers from 28IB, 66IB and 67IB joined the FRs while sharing pictures, food, cheers and stories of life with each other.

According to Edgar Ligue, YFP from North Cotabato Chapter, “Kini nga activity nagapadasig sa relasyon sa mga sundalo ug dating rebeldeng NPA”.

On the other hand, aka Junjun the former rebel said, “Karun makita nato nga ang dating magkalaban nag amigo na pinaagi sa dula nga basketball aron maabrihan ang dalan ngadto sa panaghiusa alang sa kalinaw ug kalambuan”,

The YFP officers actively promote and work for peace and development in the area of operations of the 10th Infantry (Agila) Division, Philippine Army.
