The victim, identified as Mujahid Guialudin, was hit when an anti-personnel mine (APM) went off. After an hour, another APM was found by a civilian near the same area.
Troops of 40th Infantry Battalion together with the PNP personnel of GSKP responded to the reported presence of APM and cordoned the area for safety. After the APM was safely disarmed, it was brought to the Army’s Explosive and Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Team for proper disposition and further investigation.
Likewise, at 8:00 in the morning of the same date, two suspected APMs were found in Barangay Bagumbayan, President Quirino, Sultan Kudarat. The same safety procedure was applied for the recovery and disposal of the said explosives.
The Commander of Joint Task Force Central directed the troops to hunt down the suspects behind the bombing incident. “The on-going operation of the Joint Task Force Central targeting the local bomb-makers is meant to contain the terrorists from doing their terroristic plans in Central Mindanao,” Maj. Gen. Uy added.
