TACLOBAN, CITY, Leyte, Aug. 3 (PIA) -- The Department of Public Works and Highways in Eastern Visayas (DPWH-8) has reported 79.5 percent completion rate of infrastructure projects in different areas in the region identified by the Regional Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (RTF8-ELCAC) as priority areas this year.
During the Panindugan Virtual Kapihan ha PIA hosted by PIA8 Regional Director Erlinda Olivia P. Tiu, DPWH-8 Regional Director Nerie Bueno said, the projects include flood control projects, multi-purpose buildings, farm-to-market roads to far-flung barangays, among others.
"Sa 2020 projects po hindi pa natin masyado nakuha lahat ang ating proyekto dahil alam naman po natin na ang buong pondo po ng 2020 ay hindi pa nare-release ng buo. So meron pa po tayo di nare-release na pondo but hopefully with the coming weeks ito po ay mare-release at matutuloy po ang ating ginagawang mga proyekto," Bueno said.
As cluster lead for infra projects in the region, Bueno said that she is optimistic that all projects related RTF-ELCAC will be completed as scheduled.
For the year 2020, DPWH-8 has alloted Php7.9 billion funds for the implementation of infra projects under RTF8-ELCAC program of the government.(ldl/cba/PIA-8)
