Kalinaw News: P500 Thousand worth of Starter Kits turned over to POs in Misamis Oriental

Posted to Kalinaw News (Jul 3, 2020): P500 Thousand worth of Starter Kits turned over to POs in Misamis Oriental (By 58th Infantry "Dimalulupig" Battalion, Philippine Army)



CLAVERIA, Misamis Oriental- Atty. Joffrey M Suyao, Regional Director of Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE-X) graced the turn-over ceremony of DOLE Assisted Livelihood projects to Two People’s Organization (POs) of Eureka held at So Muya, Brgy Eureka, Gingoog City this morning July 02, 2020.

The beneficiaries of said projects were 79 members of Brgy Eureka Farmers’ Association (BEFA) and 77 members of Brgy Eureka Women’s Association (BEWA). The members involve Indigenous People (IP) and Former Rebels (FRs) of said community.

The ceremony was also actively participated by Mr Jose Errol Natividad, Provincial Head of DOLE MisOr, Ms Miraluna Baje-Lopez, Provincial Director of TESDA, and LTC Ricky L Canatoy, Commanding officer of 58th Infantry (Dimalulupig) Battalion.

During the awarding, the BEFA received an amount of P300,000 worth of native chicken production project while the BEWA received P200,000 worth of rice marketing project and an included weighing scale. After the awarding of turn-over certificates was the cutting of ribbons.

This project is an endeavor of the DOLE to promote sustainable and inclusive peace which is one of the strategies of the Poverty Reduction, Livelihood and Employment Cluster (PRLEC) in implementing their Pilot Convergence Projects that address each community’s identified areas of concern.

Hon. Porperio Doque, Brgy Captain of Eureka, expressed his deep appreciation to the government and all line agencies for the ceaseless support and the continuous delivery of services to his constituents.

“Para sa atong mga kaigsuonan sa pikas unta ilang makita nga ang atong gobyerno seryoso sa pagtabang sa ilaha. Mao nang akong pangandoy nga atong mga kauban na nasa pikas nga atong kumbinsihon nga mubalik para mag-uban ta sa kaayuhan”, said Mr Ruben Pinaaling Binanugan, President of BEFA. (To all our fellow Filipinos who are still lost and fighting against the government, we hope that time will come, and you will realize that our government is serious in helping and providing services to us. As your brothers and sisters, we urge you to lay down your arms and return to the mainstream society so that together we can achieve sustainable peace.)

Meanwhile, Atty. Joffrey M Suyao, RD DOLE-X said,” Pinaagi sa panaghiusa, maangkon nato ang kalambuan. Ang panaghiusa gayud maoy importante usa nga element ng mulambo ang bisan unsa nga mga kapunungan.” (Cooperation is a very important element to achieve peace and development. We need cooperation to contribute to a more secure and prosperous community.)

“Together with other line agencies, Your Dimalulupig Troopers will continue strengthen their efforts in support to the implementation of EO 70. We are always ready to extend our arms to anyone who wish to seek our help especially to our fellow Filipinos in the mountains who are still lost and fighting for their rotten ideologies”, Lt. Col. Canatoy said.
