Kalinaw News: 3ID Commander lauds 94IB for seizing NPA camp and war materiel in Negros

Posted to Kalinaw News (May 21, 2020): 3ID Commander lauds 94IB for seizing NPA camp and war materiel in Negros (By 3rd Infantry Division)

CAMP PERALTA, Jamindan, Capiz – Major General Eric Vinoya, the Commander of the Army’s 3rd Infantry (Spearhead) Division commends the 94th Infantry (Mandirigma) Battalion for its recent achievement and contribution to the government’s anti-insurgency effort in Negros Island.

This, after the 94IB troops discovered an abandoned lair of the CPP-NPA Terrorist (CNT) and recovered an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) and M16 rifle after a week-long clearing operations in the central part of Negros Island.

MGen Vinoya said, the recoveries that include IED are strong evidences that the CNT is planning to conduct atrocities, hence, the Army in Negros will be more fierce and relentless in dealing with the communist-terrorists not only to prevent them from casting terror but also to make their armed struggle forever irrelevant.

“Likewise, my commendation goes to the vigilant civilian populace who are tirelessly supporting our troops by giving accurate information that led to the discovery of the communist-terrorist group’s lair and war materiel,” MGen Vinoya said.

Moreover, Vinoya called on the Negrenses to remain vigilant and to continue cooperating with their Army by providing information about the movement, activities and location of the communist-terrorists. “We cannot win this fight without your support, thus, we need your watchful eyes to trace and hunt these communist-terrorists. We are doing this to liberate you from the NPA’s cruel hands, and, above all, we are doing this not for our own sake but for the future of our children and our nation,” he emphasized.
