ILOILO CITY, March 10 (PIA) -- A top national government official in Western Visayas is optimistic that the local communist armed conflict will end with the involvement of everyone.

Regional Director Aldred Limoso of the National Intelligence Coordinating Agency (NICA) said that with the support of all the government agencies, Executive Order No. 70 or the Whole-of-Nation Approach to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (ELCAC) will succeed.

President Rodrigo R. Duterte has issued EO 70 that institutionalizes the Whole-of-Nation Approach to pave the way for collective participation and action in harmonizing government development efforts and services to support, facilitate and pursue the country's peace agenda.

Limoso said that aside from the whole-of-government approach, where all the national government agencies and local government units converged all development efforts and support to pursue the peace agenda, various non-government organizations and private groups also need to actively take part in this endeavor.

The NICA, led by Limoso, chairs the Situational Awareness and Knowledge Management (SAKM) Cluster of the Western Visayas Regional Task Force-ELCAC.

“We need to unite all our efforts for us to succeed in attaining inclusive, genuine and sustainable peace in the countryside,” Limoso said. (JBG/PIA6)
