Placer, Surigao del Norte – The 30th Infantry Python Battalion (30IB) received food packs, face masks, and improvised face shield to be used by the Army Frontliners who are deployed in the quarantine assistance stations; these items were donated by the Surigao del Norte 2nd District Congressman Robert Ace Barbers, yesterday,March 24,2020 at the Headquarters 30IB, Brgy Sta Cruz, Placer, Surigao Del Norte.

In can be noted that the Provincial Government of Surigao del Norte passed its Executive Order (EO) No. 20-009 series of 2020 in mainland Surigao del Norte and EO No. 20-010 series of 2020 in Siargao Island spearheaded by Atty. Francisco T. Matugas, SDN provincial governor, in connection with implementation of Surigao del Norte Operational Plan (OPLAN) AWAY -“Coronavirus Disease” (COVID-19) for the mitigation and control measures on the spread of the said virus.

The said assistance against the pandemic Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) will gear up the efforts of the frontliners and boost their morale since their health are vulnerable and they play a crucial role in dealing with this pandemic.

The 100 food packs, 150 face masks, and 50 improvised face shields were turned over by Mr Kent John Charcos Kho, Congressman Barber’s Communications Office Staff, to 1Lt. Eufrocinoel C Balverde, Supply Officer of 30IB.

In a statement, Lt. Col. Jeffrey A Villarosa said, “With the untiring support given to our front liners in order to prevent the spread of the CoViD19, not only in Surigao del Norte and Dinagat Island Province but in the whole unit’s area of operation,we know that that our mission will be a success.

“These donations will surely strengthen our efforts in support to Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Disease (IATF-MEID) in order to minimize the spread of the virus.We urge the local populace to support and cooperate with us during the conduct of checkpoints. With your active participation, we can and we will survive this crisis”,Villarosa ended.
