Forty persons, believed to be members of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF), were arrested on Monday in Talakag, Bukidnon for illegal possession of firearms and explosives.
Bukidnon police chief Police Colonel Roel Lami-ing said simultaneous aggressive police operations were conducted in Barangay Tikalaan on Monday afternoon which led to the arrest of the individuals.
Police said the personalities were allegedly involved in a shooting incident in Talakag town on February 21.

Seized from the suspected MILF members were one M-14 US rifle, a fragmentation grenade, one black bandolier of M-14, a black handheld radio, six magazines of M-14, 50 live ammunition and various identification cards.
Lami-ing hailed the security forces who had implemented the operation against the suspected MILF members.
He also vowed to continue various operations to eradicate all forms of crime in the area.
Meanwhile, the suspects will be facing charges for violation of Republic Act No. 10591 (Illegal Possession of Firearms and Ammunition) and Republic Act No. 9516 (Illegal Possession of Firearms and Explosives).
