CAMP MARCELO ADDURU, Tuguegarao City -- A leader of the Komiteng Rehiyon-Cagayan Valley (KR-CV) of the New People’s Army (NPA) and his common-law wife were arrested in Barangay Magsaysay, Diffun, Quirino on Monday night, police said on Tuesday.
Brig. Gen. Angelito Casimiro, acting regional director of the Cagayan Valley police, said Reynaldo Busania, communications head of the NPA's regional organization department, was arrested along with Sharon Malubay, medical officer of the NPA’s Platoon Bravo-Northern Front, inside their house.
Busania is facing charges for murder, multiple frustrated murder, serious illegal detention, car theft, robbery, and arson.
He was said to be among the rebel leaders who attacked the police station of Maddela town on April 29, 2017.
Busania and Malubay have been temporarily placed under the custody of Diffun police.
