From the Manila Times (Aug 19, 2019): NBI nabs 2 Abu Sayyaf members
TWO alleged members of the Abu Sayyaf were arrested in separate operations, an official of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) said on Monday, raising to 15 the number of Muslim extremists arrested in 2019.
The suspects were identified as Abdulla Addi, alias Tuma, and Aluyudan Guru, alias Tarik, who both have standing warrant of arrests from the Pasig City Regional Trial Court Branch 266 for kidnapping and serious illegal detention with ransom.
Tuma was arrested in Zamboanga City on July 31 and Tarik was in Baclaran on August 15.
Raoul Manguerra, head of the NBI-Counter Terrorism Division (CTD), said a P600,000 reward was offered for information that would lead to the arrest of the suspects.
Tarik and Tuma are detained at the NBI detention facility while waiting to be transferred to the special intensive care area of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology in Taguig City.
“It’s good for the public to know that no less than the executed affidavits of the survivors of the kidnapping, [that they were] positively identified,” Lavin said.
