Marine Battalion Landing Team-3 and GMA Kapuso Foundation, Inc. launched the Balik Aral Program, dubbed as “Unang Hakbang sa Kinabukasan”, benefiting students from different schools in Sulu yesterday, June 18.
Marine troops and GMA Kapuso Foundation distributed bag and food packs and provided free haircut service during the program.
About 700 learners from Panglima Agga Central School, Asin Elementary School, Kulay Kulay Primary School, Kan-Ukol Elementary School, Bud Seit Kindergarten, Parang Duyan Kindergarten, Pandacan Elementary School, Pang Elementary School, Kambing Elememtary School, and Kanlagay Elementay School were beneficiaries of the said program.
Lt. Gen. Arnel Dela Vega, Western Mindanao Command chief, said, “The command supports all civic engagements that aim to deliver basic services to the marginalized in far-flung and conflict-affected areas in Mindanao.”
“This is one way of showing that we value education, and that we empower children in far-flung areas to study for their future.”
