After attending the scheduled May-June Makkah 14th OIC Islamic Summit of Heads of State and Governments of the 57-member state Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), MNLF Chairman Prof. Nur Misuari and delegation have returned to the Philippines and Bangsamoro homeland to report to the Bangsamoro people and MNLF freedom fighters the progress of the MNLF active participation as 'Permanent Observer' in the pan-Islamic global body.
THE MNLF CHAIRMAN is also expected to brief Philippine President Rodrigo D Duterte on the initiative of the MNLF leadership in the 14th OIC Islamic Summit to support the PRRD government in its political program to adopt federalism as the key factor to solve peacefully the decades-long Philippines-Bangsamoro war in Mindanao that both ARMM and BARMM could not hope to resolve. The MNLF leadership decided to welcome the new development proposed by the Mindanao based-PRRD government to hold a new rounds of GRP-OIC-MNLF Peace Talks on the adoption of federalism to replace the dysfunctional unitary centralized political system to guarantee achieving 'just and lasting' Mindanao peace.
