ROXAS CITY, Capiz -- Army troopers are reminded to be politically neutral this May 13 polls.
Lieutenant General Macairog Alberto, commanding general of the Philippine Army, warned the soldiers to avoid involvement in partisan politics.

“Our involvement in this coming election is to vote and support the conduct of honest, orderly and peaceful election,” he said during the 4th Founding Anniversary of the 3rd Infantry Division, Philippine Army, May 1, at Camp Macario Peralta in Jamindan, Capiz.
Alberto also called on them to be guided always by their values of honor, patriotism and duty in accomplishing their mission.
“We have to live by our brand of dedicated service in serving our people,” he said.
On the other hand, 3ID commander Major General Dinoh Dolina said the Army troop here, which covers the areas in Western and Central Visayas, is ready for the May 13 polls.
Dolina said they are closely working with the Philippine National Police especially in ensuring peaceful, honest and secure elections.
He said that the Armed Forces of the Philippines will not remain neutral this election because they will always be on the side of the law.
“We will run after those who will violate the law,” Dolina said.
