Balikatan exercises enhance the inter-operability of our forces with our allies and maintain a high level of readiness and responsiveness to any eventualities especially on emergency response to disasters. Activities also includes engineering Civic Assistance Projects which help in constructing and repairing schools and other buildings/facilities and the Cooperative Health Engagement that provides real time advanced health services to the indigents during simulated medical emergencies on remote areas.

Balikatan exercise is regularly conducted with our allies to incorporate lessons learned from previous exercises and from actual events on disaster response, humanitarian assistance activities, counterterrorism and other possible improvement on our joint and combined tactics, techniques and procedures brought by necessities and advancement of technology.
