Brgy Councilor Tata Magdipig of Brgy Maganda and... Hon. Mayor Nelson Uy, Municipal Mayor of Taragona, DOR at Headquarters 701st Bde, Brgy Don Martin Marundan, Mati City.
Alias ROY, 24 years old, former Vice CO, SYP, GF-2, residence at Prk Gemelina, Brgy Maganda, Taragona, DOR; and Alias JAN 22 years old, Squad Medic, GF-2, SRC-2, SMRC, also residence at Prk Gemelina, Brgy Maganda, Taragona, DOR revealed during an interview after their surrender to 701Bde that they were students of Salugpungan school in Davao Oriental.
Meanwhile, Major General Jose C Faustino Jr, Commander 10ID lauded 701st Brigade’s leadership and the troops under it for the commendable accomplishment.
“The government provides help to the NPAs who have surrendered. We encourage their (NPA) remaining members to go back to the folds of the law and avail of the government’s E-CLIP,” he said.
Likewise, the Provincial Peace and Order Council of Davao Oriental is taking serious measures to save children, particularly Mandaya natives, from communist doctrines reported to be spread by anti-government schools established in some ancestral domains here.
