Ltcol Alvin Iyog, Commanding Officer of 2nd Mechanized Infantry Battalion spearheaded the medical mission in partnership with the Peoples Medical Health Team of Maguindanao and the local government of Amaptuan held in Brgy Kauran Gymnasium, Ampatuan, Magauindanao.
Around 1,500 less fortunate residents of Ampatuan town received the free medical check-up, tooth extractions, circumcisions and free hair-cut.
The security forces and the local government of Province of Maguindanao also distributed school bags, sleepers for children, malong for senior citizens, corn seeds for farmers and hygiene kit for pregnant women.
The delivery of health services to the grass roots aimed to build alliance between the different stakeholders of the government and the community in order to strengthen stakeholder’s relationship where trust and confidence are built among the populace and the military as partners for peace and development, said Major General Cirilito E.
