Mismong si Wesmincom Spokesperson Col. Gerry Besana, ang nagbigay ng impormasyon na batay sa CCTV footage na narekober ng mga autoridad sa lugar.

Sinabi pa ni Besana, ang Ajang-ajang group ay bahagi ng Abu Sayyaf Group, na pangunahing nag-o operate sa mga urban areas.

Batay sa report ng PNP-ARMM As of 6PM, 20 ang namatay sa insidente na binubuo ng 14 na sibilyan, 5 AFP at 1 miyembro ng coast Guard.

Aabot naman sa 111 ang sugatan na binubuo ng 90 sibilyan, 17 AFP, 2 PNP, at 2 coast Guard.
