The surrendered NPA members are A.K.AFreck, 24 years old, single, a fulltime NPA, team leader and supply officer and A.K.A Danny, 51 years old, aMilitia ng Bayan member, Chairman of KilusangRebolusyonaryosaBaryo(KRB), finance and collector of BAGER 1. Both were under Weakened Guerilla Front (WGF) 2, SRC 2, SMRC who voluntarily surrendered to Lieutenant Colonel Esteveyn E Ducusin, Commanding Officer of 71stIB at one of the 71st IB Balik-Loob Centers situated at its Headquarters in Purok 8, Brgy. Nueva Visayas, Mawab, Compostela Valley.
A.K.AFreck revealed that in 2017, he underwent PambansangDemokratikongPaaralan (PADEPA) for three (3) days at SitioLumanggang, Brgy. New Leyte, Maco. In 2018, he took part in harassingthe 1001st Brigade, 10th Infantry Division at Sitio Quarry, BrgyMapaang, Maco, He also partake in harassing the Cabuyoan Detachment under the Alpha Company, 72nd Infantry Battalion, 10th Infantry Division at Brgy. Cabuyoan, Mabini, CompostelaValley Province.
“Look how these people have been fooled by the NPAs. They were made to participate in harassment because their minds were poisoned of the beliefs that violence is the answer to their calls but as you can see, they surrendered because they have waked up now. They have realized that they were just used by these NPAs in their useless cause.” Ducusin said.
“Fools will still be fools if they would continue believing these nonsense ideologies. Don’t get fooled, wake up and start living a peaceful life.” Ducusin added.
The Balik-Loob Centers were created to accommodate and assist Communist NPA Terrorists (CNTs) who want to go back in the mainstream of the society and avail the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (ECLIP). It was designed to have more venues for surrender particularly in the far flung areas infiltrated by the CNTs. Under ECLIP, Former Rebels will receive mobilization and livelihood assistance and remuneration for surrendered firearms.
The 71st Infantry “Kaibigan” Battalion is committed in serving and protecting the people. The unit is more than willing to accept more NPAs who want to surrender and go back to their peaceful lives. 71IB / MCAG
