MAWAB, Compostela Valley (DWDD) – Two members of the Communist NPA Terrorist (CNTs) surrendered to 71st Infantry (Kaibigan) Battalion at Brgy. Nueva Visayas, Mawab, CVP on January 7, 2019, 1:00pm....
A Caliber 357 with four (4) live ammunitions was turned in to Lieutenant Colonel Esteveyn E Ducusin, Commander of 71st Infantry “Kaibigan“Battalion by A.K.A George, 30 and A.K.A Dodong, 23 both single and residents of Barangay Golden Valley, Mabini, Compostela Valley. They were Milisyang Bayan (MB) under WGF 2, Sub-Regional Committee 2 (SRC 2), Southern Mindanao Regional Command (SMRC).

A.K.A George revealed that he was recruited by A.K.A CRIS, A.K.A. Tatay and A.K.A Pani at Purok 18, Primary Suag, Brgy. Golden Valley, Mabini, Compostela Valley Province. He said that he underwent one day livelihood program at Brgy. Golden Valley and his instructors whose names are mentioned above. He added that he participated in the rally at Panacan, Davao City with the theme “Pababain ang mga Sundalo sa Bundok” last year that was organized by a.k.a Renante.

“It was a good thing that you surrendered, New Year, new life”, Ducusin said to the former rebels. He also advised them never to return to these nonsense ideologies that once they believed.

“This is a wake-up call for those who still continue on supporting the pointless ideologies of the rebels. It has been 50 years of crimes and extortion towards the innocent people of the country. We should not let it continue and it should stop now”, Ducusin added.
