From DWDD AFP Civil Relations Service Radio Website (Feb 20): TATAG TROOPERS | 56IB Ready to Fight in Mindanao
FORT RAMON MAGSAYSAY, NUEVA ECIJA (DWDD) – The 7th Infantry (Kaugnay) Division held a Send Off Ceremony for 56th Infantry (Tatag) Battalion at the 7ID Grandstand yesterday.
56IB, one of the most accomplished battalion of 7ID, will be deployed in Mindanao area to support the campaign plan of the Philippine Army in one of the major islands of the country.
The battalion has been successful in the conduct of Community Support Program (CSP) and other in the province of Aurora. There was even a motion by the LGUs of Aurora submitted to the higher headquarters to request for the retention of the battalion but the movement of 56IB has been scheduled for quite some time.
“We are assured that 56IB had been exceptional in the conduct of their duties and responsibilities in their previous Area of Responsibility. The fact that residents of Aurora do not want to let go 56IB indicates that Tatag troopers played a vital role in maintaining the peace and sustaining the development of the province.” said MGEen Felimon T Santos Jr, Commander, 7ID
“I am confident that 56IB will surpass their performance in Luzon even if it requires some adjustments in Mindanao.” he added. Tatag troopers are now ready to serve Mindanaoans after being deployed in Luzon for many years. 56IB / MCAG
