DWDD: WEAKENING FORCE | 500 NPAs surrendered

From DWDD AFP Civil Relations Service Radio Website (Nov 16): WEAKENING FORCE  |   500 NPAs surrendered

CAMP GEN EMILIO AGUINALDO, Quezon City (DWDD) – Almost 500 disgruntled members of the New People’s Army terrorist group have surrendered to the government after the suspension of Peace Talks with the communist-terrorist group.

According to Armed Forces of the Philippines Public Affairs Office Chief, Marine Col. Edgard Arevalo, this massive influx of rebel surrenderees is due to the sustained and intensified militry operations launched by the government against the NPAs’.

The AFPs calculated operations limited the movements and activities of the communist-terrorist group forcing most of its members to surrender en masse.

The AFP assured future surrenderees that they will be whole-heartedly welcomed back to their communities and live normal and peaceful lives together with their family. They will can also expect financial and livelihood assistance to re-start their lives earlier ruined by joining the NPA terror group. PAO AFP / MCAG
