TALACOGON, Agusan del Sur (DWDD) – With the intensified joint collaboration between 26th Infantry “Ever Onward” Battalion and local PNP forces in the province of Agusan del Sur, high-ranking NPA personalities were arrested this October 27, 2017 in Brgy Balit, San Luis, Agusan del Sur.
Authorities confirmed that six (6) NPA members were apprehended of which two (2) of them holds the position as Regional Military Instructor Jonas Acosta alias Dodong of the North Central Mindanao Regional Committee (NCMRC) and Commanding Officer (CO) Noli M. Tahudan alias Moloy of Sandatahang Platun Pampropaganda (SPP) Peacock of the NPA Guerilla Front Committee 88.
The arrest was made possible by virtue of a Search Warrant number 2017-03 to 2017-10 wherein firearms and explosives and its components were confiscated in their possession. Additional confiscated items were backpacks, revolutionary flags, foodstuff and subversive documents.
Colonel Andres Centino, the Army’s 401st Brigade Commander, asserted that synergy of efforts of security forces coupled with the cooperation of the local populace is one key to the attainment of peace and development. He further called upon the remaining members of NPA to lay down their arms and yield to the government or accept their fate in the hands of the law. 26IB/MCAG
