BAGONG CALARIAN, Zamboanga City (DWDD) – Naval Forces Western Mindanao celebrated its 21st Founding Anniversary last October 13, 2017 with the theme “NFWM: 21 Years of Selfless Service Towards a Prosperous and Secure Western Mindanao” graced by the Flag Officer In Command, Philippine Navy, Vice Adm. Ronald Joseph S Mercado AFP as the Guest of Honor and Speaker.

The highlight of the event was the awarding of the officers, enlisted personnel, civilian employees, OpCon Units and NFWM partner stakeholders who rendered meritorious services and greatly contributed to the mission accomplishment of the command for the past year.

The Flag Officer In Command said on his anniversary message, “A lot of challenges may have crossed our path this past year but I am proud to say that NFWM never faltered or ceased to deliver desired results and render only the highest standard and most honorable service to our maritime nation.”

Furthermore, the Commander Naval Forces Western Mindanao reiterates that, “No mission will ever be successful, no undertaking a success, if there are only few people dealing with it. It is imperative that we work as a team, and always put our best foot forward in carrying out our tasks.”

Indeed, the NFWM Officers, Enlisted personnel, civilian employees and OpCon units had lived up with its theme and have made the Philippine Navy a strong and credible organization. NFWM/NPAO/MCAG
