SUBIC BAY, Olongapo City (DWDD) – The Royal Australian Navy (RAN) and Philippine Navy (PN) showcased their capabilities during a joint humanitarian assistance and disaster response (HADR) operations demo last October 15.
This was conducted in the vicinity waters of Subic Bay.
The activity was the last activity between RAN and PN before Canberra-class landing helicopter dock (LHD) HMAS Adelaide (LO1) and Adelaide-class guided-missile frigate HMAS Darwin (FFG-04) left the country after completing a 5-day goodwill visit.
The visit was part of the Australian Defense Forces – Joint Task Group of Indo-Pacific Endeavour 2017 which focuses .
Endeavour 2017 focuses on enhancing military cooperation with some of Australia’s key regional partners including Brunei, Cambodia, the Federated States of Micronesia, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, the Republic of Korea, Singapore, Thailand, and Timor-Leste.
HMAS Adelaide (L01) is the lead ship of the task group which will be joined by different types of frigates and a replenishment ship at various stages of the deployment. NPAO/MCAG0
