From DWDD AFP Civil Relations Service Radio Website (Sep 21): ON STANDBY | AFP activates CDM and K-9 teams
CAMP GEN EMILIO AGUINALDO, Quezon City (DWDD) – The Armed Forces of the Philippines – Joint Task Force National Capital Region (AFP-JTFNCR) has placed 1,000 soldiers on stand-by for any eventualities during the National Day of Protest today.
According to AFP-JTF NCR Commander Col Vic Tomas, the soldiers will form of the AFP – Civil Disturbance Management contingent, together with its K-9 units.
But Col Tomas clarified that the AFP contingent will remain in their barracks unless called upon to assist personnel of the Philippine National Police (PNP).
On the part of the PNP, they have deployed one thousand police personnel all throughout Metro Manila, while augmentation forces from the various police district has been placed on stand-by and ready to respond for any untoward incident.
So far, authorities have not received any report of any terrorist plot to coincide with the protest of different militant groups. AES/ALS
