SANGLEY POINT, Cavite City (DWDD) – The Fleet-Marine Ready Force conducted its Annual literacy program dubbed as Sundalo Ko, Teacher Ko from 13- 19 September 2017 at Porta Vaga Elementary School.
Part of this activity is a Shipboard Tour called Lakbay Aral.
The purpose of the “Lakbay Aral” activity is to provide each student the opportunity to visit naval vessels, interact with a Philippine Navy personnel and further understand the life of a sailor and a soldier of the Armed Force of the Philippines.
The activity started with a film showing of PN documentary illustrating PN capabilities to the students, parents and teachers at Fleet-Marine Ready Force Wardroom on 15 September 2017.
Consequently, a unit briefing was conducted by personnel of BRP Bacolod (LS 550) and BRP Rajah Humabon (PF 11). The briefing also focused on safety policies and procedures of both vessel. The two vessels are currently moored at Captain Salvo Pier, Sangley Point, Cavite City.
Once again, FMRF has showcased our Navy to the general public, particularly the young students, for them to understand the Navy’s role in guarding and securing our seas. FMRF/NPAO/MCAG
