CAMP GEN EMILIO AGUINALDO, Quezon City (DWDD) – Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Chief of Staff General Eduardo M. Año assured scholarships to all dependents of soldiers Killed-in-Action Marawi.

According to Gen Año, aside from the guaranteed scholarships for the children of KIA soldiers, their widows will also benefit through job opportunities on the department of their choice.

At the same time, livelihood programs will be provided dependents who opts to have their own business, since the AFP has P2 million in funds to support the projects, coming from various donors, partners and stakeholders.

Recently, the AFP has honored its stakeholders and partners who has been graciously donating funds, specially for the education of military dependents, through a recognition ceremony held at the AFP Commissioned Officers Club in Camp Gen Emilio Aguinaldo, Quezon City to recognize the role of individuals and institutions that continuously support the education of our soldiers’ dependents through their partnership with the AFP Educational Benefit System (AFPEBS).

Among those who attended the stakeholders recognition ceremony last September 15, were AFP vice chief of staff Lt. Gen. Salvador Melchor Mison Jr., the acting deputy chief of staff of the AFP Maj. Gen. Elvin Velasco, Brig. Gen. Arnel Duco, AFP J1, officials and staff of 18 partner institutions and the 16 grantees of the AFP Educational Benefit System (AFPEBS).

All of these efforts are in line with the AFPEBSO’s commitment of “Leaving No Soldiers’ Orphan Behind.

On the same occasion, the AFP proudly highlighted the feat of their magna cum laude graduate, five cum laude graduates, and 15 Student Achievement Recognition System (STARS) awardees. These brought pride and fulfillment for the AFP, its partners and stakeholders as they contribute to the welfare improvement of our soldiers’ families. AES
