CASIGURAN, Aurora (DWDD) – The C.J. Torre Elementary School, Esperanza Elementary School, and Esperanza Daycare Center benefitted from the Joint Civic Assistance Activity of the Philippine and US military forces.

Last September 15, 2017, soldiers from the Armed Forces of the Philippines and their counterpart from the 3rd Marine Expeditionary Brigade broke ground for the engineering and construction projects through renovation of several schools and a day-care center in Casiguran town in Aurora province.

 The projects also aims to give the children with a more spacious, modern, and comfortable environment in which to learn and play, including new classrooms, canteens and updating the schools electrical wiring.

Aside the construction activities, US military medical teams taught around 600 Girl Scouts in Casiguran town on basic lifesaving skills, disease prevention and dental hygiene.

All of these activities are part of the US-Philippine Bilateral Military Exercise dubbed “KAMANDAG” which stands for Kaagapay Ng Mga Mandirigma Ng Dagat (Cooperation of Warriors of the Sea)
